Setting Goals

by Erin
( Canada)

When we have a goal, we usually say something like "I want to be a millionaire." To get to that goal, we have to first reach making $50,000/year, then $500,000/year. So when we are making affirmations, visualizing, meditating on our goals, do we focus on reaching the smaller goals first (eg: I am so happy and excited I am making $50,000/year) and as we reach those, continually set our next big goal? Or do we "dream big" and only focus on those millions?

Setting Goals
by: Anonymous

Erin,

This is a great question, and one that I have had to ask myself before as I was learning to master the Law of Attraction.

I encourage you to expand your horizons as far as your imagination and faith will take you. On the other side of the coin, you need to be able to believe it, or train your mind to do have faith in this goal through cultivation.

So set your sights high, and practice "feeling" the way it will feel when you ARE earning $xxxxxxx every single year. Train yourself to feel "as if" it were that way already. When you get to the point where your daily vibration is someone who is earning the amount you want..you can then "raise the bar" and set your sights higher.

Use Your Emotions As A Check
by: Maria Westcott

Erin,

If you repeat something over and over, your subconscious will eventually come to believe it. How long that takes depends on how far away you already are from having that belief.

If you say something, but deep down you feel that it is "a lie", you are still far away from internalising it. However, if you feel JOY when you say it, you know that it is becoming reality for your subconscious.

This is one of the main reasons that affirmations do not work for some people. What they are affirming is so far from the reality of where they are that their subconscious mind just cannot believe it.

Therefore the answer to your question really depends on how far away you are from internalizing that which you are affirming. If in doubt, take it in steps.

The affirmation should evoke positive feelings and the joy of already having what you are affirming. These feelings are essential for affirmations to work. So if you are not experiencing that joy, that is another sign that you might be affirming something that your subconscious mind just can't quite yet believe.

I hope this is helpful.

Imagine It and It Is Yours! Maria
