Okay, Lao tzu was not a teacher of the Law of Attraction, but he is one of the wisest men who has ever lived and the lessons he gives us in the "Tao Te Ching" are certainly worth studying.

In the life of Lao Tzu, he was a philosopher in ancient China and is one of the main figures in Taoism (or "Daoism"). He was also known by many other names: Laosi, Laozi, Lao Tse, Laotze, and Lao Zi. The name means "Old Master" and is it refers to someone who is received as socially superior to others. In the Taoism religion, he was even held in the esteem of a god and was referred to as "one of the Three Pure Ones".

There is some dispute regarding when he lived. Historians believe that the man didn't really exist, but that he is a mythical culmination of many historical figures of the 4th century BC. However, according to Chinese tradition, he lived in the 6th century BC.

In any event, he is a central figure in Chinese culture who is credited with writing the book that is the centre of Taoism, the "Tao Te Ching".


The Tao Te Ching is full of universal truths and inspiration. As the Law of Attraction says, we create that which we think about, it provides 81 passages of true wisdom for you to contemplate and meditate on. This work is fundamental to Chinese philosophy many Chinese have used it as a source of inspiration and with the advent of hundreds of translations into Western languages, its influence has also spread widely outside East Asia. 

Translated, its name means "The Book of the Way and Its Power". Its 81 short chapters and divided into two parts: Chapters 1-37 the Tao Ching and the Te Ching (chapters 38-81).

Many believe this work contains universal truths that have been independently recognized in other philosophies, both religious and secular. Depending on interpretation, some ambiguous passages have multiple readings, ranging from political advice for rulers to practical wisdom for people.
